Abdominal Massage
for Postpartum Care
Postpartum Care is for all bodies that have experienced pregnancy and birth. Sessions are recommended starting at 6 weeks after a vaginal birth and 12 weeks after a cesarean birth.

During pregnancy, the abdominal and reproductive organs, ligaments, and muscles become compromised. This can cause postpartum health issues such as; incontinence, pelvic heaviness, and painful sex. Though these are common, and many health professionals deem them “normal” they are not ideal, and can be corrected or greatly improved by getting postpartum care. Postpartum issues, if left uncared for, can follow us through menopause and later adulthood.

Postpartum sessions are a blend of abdominal therapy, myofascial therapy, therapeutic massage, and lymphatic drainage tailored to each client for recovery after pregnancy.

What is Abdominal Therapy? Abdominal Therapy is a noninvasive, external massage technique. This specialized therapy focuses on mobility, and proper positioning (alignment) of abdominal and reproductive organs. When abdominal and reproductive organs are in proper alignment hormones, blood, and lymph fluid are unrestricted and able to circulate properly.

Is it ever too late to start postpartum care? While it is recommended to start care at 6 weeks post vaginal birth or 12 weeks post cesarean, it's never too late to start care. Being postpartum is a lifelong status, and we see health benefits years and even decades after birth.

Frequently, women experience more than one abdominal or reproductive issue postpartum. All will be addressed during sessions, along with any women's health, fertility, or digestive concerns.
